For our first HypGnosis Society member release, we carefully….carefully went through our barreled Nocte stock and considered the options. We deliberated and we focused, and we found what we ultimately agreed was the pinnacle expression of our original stout. The wood and spirit of the barrel selection we had it resting in these past years is truly evident in this stout. HypGnosis I is the product of passion, patience, scrutiny, and exacting standards. All aspects are in balance: the baker’s cocoa, milk chocolate, and coffee roast of Nocte stout; the bourbon heat and spice; the tannic structure and vanilla of the oak barrels… all in harmony and agreement. We really do think this is the peak of our barrel aged stout to this point, and we are both thrilled and humbled to share it with our most devoted supporters.
