German Pils Lager

About this beer
When we make a German lager at Gnosis, we take special pains to try and be as authentic and meticulous as possible to create our best iteration of a classic style. Fritz is our traditional German Pils lager made with German malts and noble hops, and a prolific lager yeast that also has its roots in German brewing. The finished product is clean and crisp with a medium floral-herbal hop bouquet and flavor, and a refreshing balance between classic Pilsen malt and supportive hop bitterness. We hope all lager lovers, including German beer aficionados, will love and appreciate Fritz as much as we do.

Brewer's notes:
“If someone told us they thought German Pils was the perfect beer style, I’m not sure we’d have much to say against that. We love….LOVE lager at Gnosis. It’s a true passion for us both as beer drinkers and as brewers. We often salivate over all the various tanks and other hardware out there employed in creating bright, clean lagered beers. In our space, we take pains on all angles with what we have in our toolkit to produce top-quality lagers, and in the case of Fritz, we are especially proud. With Fritz, we use German malts (primarly Pilsen malt), German hops, and the prolific lager yeast strain known as that used at the Weihenstephan brewery (yup, also in Germany). The goal is a deft balance of lightly-assertive hop bitterness, sufficient floral-herbal noble hop flavor and aroma, and a bready, crackery Pilsen malt flavor – all combined for a very drinkable, clean, crisp Pils that can stand up next to the best of them. It would not be out of the question to see one of us drinking a 1L stein of Fritz in the taproom. PROST!”
